BeeNest Insulated Hive System
Give your bees the comfort of a tree hollow with the BeeNest Insulated Hive System — a high-performance Langstroth-compatible hive box engineered for both hot and cold climates. Designed to mimic the stable thermal conditions of a tree hollow, this insulated Langstroth-compatible hive offers superior protection from extreme temperatures. Whether you're raising bees in scorching summers or cold winters, this hive helps regulate the internal environment so your colony can focus on what matters: brood rearing and honey production. With its integrated insulation, secure interlocking geometry, and clean wood construction, the BeeNest is ideal for backyard beekeepers looking to create a more stable and productive hive environment.
Key Features
Thermally Stable Design: 2" foam board insulation on each wall sandwiched between laser-cut Baltic birch keeps internal temperatures far more consistent day and night — even in extreme climates. Top features double insulation!
Standard Langstroth Form Factor: Stack with standard equipment above and below, fully compatible with your existing 8-frame or 10-frame gear, though we do recommend a fully insulated stack.
Interlocking Geometry: Precision-cut tops and bottoms prevent shifting and ensure perfect box alignment.
Integrated Handle: Each box features a 1" dowel handle — strong, comfortable, and easy to grip, even when fully loaded.
Optional Screened Bottom Board: Fill tray with diatomaceous earth to help control pests. Since switching to this system, I haven’t seen a single hive beetle.
Proven Results: I use this system in my own apiary, equipped with internal sensors. Temperature and humidity stay within tight ranges, boosting brood health and colony stability.
